When the Compass Doesn't Point Where You Expected
Journal Entry 001
I used to believe life followed a map.
You make plans. You work hard. You picture where you'll be in five years. You think if you're careful enough, life will unfold the way you imagined.
Then one day, the compass points somewhere else.
Not because you chose it.
Because life chose it for you.
There are days I still wish the map had stayed the same.
I wish the road had been easier.
I wish some chapters had never been written.
But over time, I've started noticing something.
The people who have changed me the most...
The places that have shaped me...
The strength I never knew I had...
None of them were on the original map.
I never would have chosen heartbreak.
I never would have chosen loss.
I never would have chosen a rare diagnosis for my son.
But those moments have changed the way I see the world.
They've taught me that courage isn't always loud.
Sometimes courage looks like showing up for another therapy appointment.
Sometimes it looks like starting over.
Sometimes it looks like getting out of bed and choosing hope one more time.
Maybe the compass was never meant to lead us back to the life we expected.
Maybe it was always leading us toward the life we were meant to grow into.
Not the easier life.
The deeper one.
Before you go.... What changed your map?
Keep Heading North.
